Labour Relations Act 66 of 1995
This Act regulates the labour environment in South Africa and deals with disputes arising from unfair labour practices and dismissals. Disputes under this Act will be referred to a relevant Bargaining Council, the CCMA or Labour Court.
Basic Conditions of Employment Act 75 of 1997
Deals with the regulation of the Basic Conditions of Employment between Employers & Employees.
Employment Equity Act 55 of 1998
This Act provides for Employment Equity and matters incidental thereto.
Constitution of South Africa Act 108 of 1996
The Constitution has a bearing on labour relations in terms of all the basic rights that individuals have in terms of the Constitution. All these basic rights must be taken into account as the Constitution represents the highest law of South Africa.
OTHER LEGISLATION
Other legislation governing the Law of Contract for instance, as well as Criminal Law will also play a role in certain instances and cannot be ignored.
